About La Scala Cafe
Life begins at sixty. Dad always wanted to have a place where he could sip coffee, listen to his music, entertain his friends, and look at his memorabillas. And so when he turned sixty, he did just that. We called it his fourth child. He called it the simple joys of life.
It is just fitting that Dad called the place La Scala after his parents' grocery store named Scala in the 50's in that area. It is a return to one's roots and a tribute to our grandparents who started out in the Philippines as entrepreneurs. The name is also derived from the famed opera house Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Italy where Dad went during one of his travels.
A blend of quintessence, step into my Dad's bliss.
